Train fares

All commuters are charged a fare according to the total distance travelled on the bus, MRT and LRT. With the introduction of distance fares, you can make transfers without having to pay a boarding charge for every transfer that makes up your journey.

  1. Route and Fares
    1. Estimated travel time for the route shown includes the following:
      • Approximately 4 minutes for transfer between MRT/LRT lines at Bishan, Buona Vista, Choa Chu Kang, City Hall, Dhoby Ghaut, HarbourFront, Jurong East, Outram Park, Paya Lebar, Punggol, Raffles Place, Sengkang and Serangoon Stations
      • Approximately 6 minutes for transfer to Expo and Changi Airport Stations at Tanah Merah Station
      • Approximately 4 minutes for transfer to Bayfront and Marina Bay Stations at Promenade Station
    2. Estimated travel time shown does not include travel time on Punggol and Sengkang LRT
    3. Fares shown are for direct trips on MRT/LRT without any transfer to/from buses.
    4. Route shown is based on the shortest travel time

Circle Line Extension

Hop on the Circle Line to visit the latest attractions in Singapore – Gardens by the Bay, Marina Bay Sands, and Marina Barrage, the first reservoir in the city! They are conveniently located in the vicinity of Bayfront (CE1) and Marina Bay (NS27/CE2).

If you are coming from the East or West:

1) Take the East-West Line and transfer to the North-South Line heading towards Marina Bay Interchange at Raffles Place Interchange.

2) Transfer to the Circle Line at Marina Bay Interchange and alight at Bayfront Station.

If you are coming from the North, take the North-South Line towards Marina Bay Interchange and follow step 2 aboveIf you are on the Circle Line, stop at Promenade station and transfer to the train heading towards Marina Bay station at platform B.

*   During peak hours, every alternate train heading towards the city will call at Bayfront station and Marina Bay interchange. Please check the screen at the platform for more information, and board the train service heading towards Marina Bay.


Directions to:

  • Marina Bay Sands
    Alight at Bayfront (CE1), Exit B, C, D and E links directly to Marina Bay Sands.
    What you can see: Wonder Full water and light show at the Waterfront Promenade (Sun-Thu: 8pm, 9.30pm; Fri-Sat: 8pm, 9.30pm, 11pm). 5min from Exit B, C, D and E.
  • The Promontory @ Marina Bay
    Alight at Bayfront (CE1). 8min from Exit E.
    What you can do there:  Picnic, kite flying or a leisurely evening stroll.
  • Gardens by the Bay
    1)    Alight at Bayfront (CE1): 5min from Exit B. Follow the underground linkway to Gardens by the Bay via the Dragonfly Bridge; or2)    Alight at Marina Bay (NS27/CE2): Take Exit A and take a public bus. The bus stop is a 2-minute walk from the station. Alight four stops later, along Marina Gardens Drive.
  • Marina Barrage
    Alight at Marina Bay (NS27/CE2) and take a public bus from the bus stop which is a 2-minute walk away. Hop off five stops later, along Marina Gardens Drive.


For a return trip:

  • To North-South Line: Take the train to Marina Bay (NS27/CE2)
  • To East-West Line: From North-South Line, transfer at Raffles Place (NS26/EW14) or City Hall (NS25/EW13)
  • To North-East Line: From North-South Line, transfer at Dhoby Ghaut (NS24/NE6/CC1)
  • To Circle Line: Take the train and alight at Promenade (CC4). To head towards Dhoby Ghaut, wait for the next train at platform B. For train service towards HarbourFront, wait at Bayfront (CE1) platform D (during peak-hour) or Promenade (CC4) platform A (during non-peak hour).
