The Southeast Asian Games will once again return to Singapore in 2015, after a 22-year long hiatus. Awarded the bid by the Southeast Asian Games Federation (SEAGF) in November 2011, the 28th SEA Games will be held from June 5 – 16, 2015.

Previously hosting the Games in 1973, 1983 and 1993, Singapore’s fourth time hosting the games is especially significant to the republic as it celebrates its 50th year of independence in 2015. This presents Singapore with the perfect opportunity to reinforce regional peace and friendship with its regional neighbours.

The Singapore SEA Games Organising Committee (SINGSOC) believes the mid-year dates will provide ample opportunities for everyone to be part of Games, not only sports enthusiasts. The 28th SEA Games looks set to be a 12-day fiesta.

36 sports and 402 events will feature in the 28th SEA Games Singapore 2015. The sports are aquatics (swimming, synchronised swimming, diving, waterpolo), archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, billiards & snooker, bowling, boxing, canoeing, cycling, equestrian, fencing, floorball, football, golf, gymnastics, hockey, judo, netball, petanque, rowing, rugby 7s, sailing, sepak takraw, shooting, silat, softball, squash, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, dragon boat, triathlon, volleyball, wakeboard & waterski, and wush

DAMRI Airport Bus (Jakarta Soekarna-Hatta Airport (CGK) – Gambir Station)

RailTravel Station

The DAMRI Airport Bus is one of the most economical and confortable ways for travellers to get from the airport to the city. DAMRI operates many routes to Jakarta and it’s surroundings (colloquially known as Jabodetabek), but the one that goes to the centre of the town, and also the most frequent route, is the bus to Gambir Station.

CGK Airport to Gambir

Upon arrival at the terminal, just walk out to the roadside area and find the signs pointing to DAMRI. In Terminal 2, it’s located at a dedicated bus stand at the end of the terminal. For Terminal 1, just go to the official bus stops by the road.

The Terminal 2 bus stand. Here, you can buy your tickets in advance from the DAMRI counter and staff at hand will announce each bus’s destination as they are ready for boarding. Many buses can depart at once to…

Do.main Bakery

226 Tanjong Katong Road

IMG_8028There are posts which sometimes I felt obliged to write, but Do.main is one of the few that actually gave me the urge to pen down my thoughts! IMG_8015This time round, Chef Frederic has teamed impeccably up with fellow chefs Stephane Istel (chef-owner of Bar-Roque Bar & Grill – officially one of my favourite French eateries) and Christophe Megel (founder, a-munition group, former CEO for at-sunrice globalchef academy and executive chef of Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore). With such heavyweights pounding at us, they together have sharply curated a beaming list of traditional, classic French savouries with minimal contemporary influences. That I think is the perfect comfort food for the homesick French Expats over here.
