Whether you want to admit it to yourself or not, there are times when, after visiting one place, over and over again, you just become a bit bored, and your interest in visiting it once again wanes.

Cebu is a little bit like that for me. After visiting it for more then 20 times already for events, and business meetings over the past 13 years, it has become a very boring place for me and begged off some opportunities to come visit it again.

But all that changed when I had the chance to visit the city and stay at the luxurious Movenpick Hotel in Mactan Island.

I have heard only wonderful things about the hotel and I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to experience it for myself.

Needless to say, I had high expectations but I was also realistic.

Thank God that Movenpick exceeded all my expectations and…

I travelled 8 countries in 4 months, and these were the top 5 places I stayed and why. All had free wifi in the communal areas and in some of the dorms – always good to know! Some did food, some didn’t.

This one will be a long description as there’s a lot to say…A reasonably priced party hostel, by all accounts, but one with good facilities ($8, or £5 per night and a swimming pool in the hostel!?), really friendly and cheekily fun staff (cleaning ladies who liked to sit on my bed and look at photos of my boyfriend, giggle and basically hide from their boss for a few minutes were a high point!) and pretty strong ethics. Villa Samadhi is a luxurious retreat in the calm of nature, right smack in the middle of bustling Kuala Lumpur. It is located just a drive away to many of the city’s highlights– the Petronas Twin Towers, the KL Tower, and the Golden Triangle area of Bukit Bintang. The resort itself is nestled within a quiet corner of the city; surrounded by upscale condominiums and foreign embassies.

Villa Samadhi: A Kuala Lumpur Retreat- www.shewalkstheworld.comMy Samadhi Experience
There are not many luxury boutique resorts in the heart of Kuala Lumpur– so Villa Samadhi is in a league of its own. Living in the city, I wanted to go somewhere for the weekend that didn’t require me to travel too much; and this villa offered me the peace and tranquility I needed while being close enough to home.

With a front entrance that could easily be missed if you’re not looking for it, I felt like I was…

I am definitely a man who’s after value for money.

So when my mom asked me whether I wanted to try having a buffet dinner at Market Cafe for about $50 per person, it was an understatement to say that I was skeptical about it. In fact, I wasn’t that thrilled. I wasn’t planning on spending $100 when I can dine at a great restaurant for a fraction of the cost.

But since we were in the area, (my mom tried her hands at the slots), we proceeded to have dinner at Market Cafe, located at the third floor of the Hyatt Hotel and Casino in Malate, Manila.

Now, being the food lover that I am, I am very much familiar with buffet dinners. I’ve tried having dinner at Spiral in Sofitel; Circles in Makati Shang; Heat in Edsa Shang; Escolta in Manila Pen; Cafe Ilang-Ilang in Manila Hotel and…
