LIFE SE ASIA MAGAZINE

Visited a Thai family in a small village near Phimai and they took me there. What a great day. Most of my photos that day was focused on the family. I plan on making another trip here in October.

Text from Wikipedia

The Phimai historical park(Thai: ปราสาทหินพิมาย) protects one of the most importantKhmer temples of Thailand. It is located in the town of PhimaiNakhon Ratchasima province.

The temple marks one end of the Ancient Khmer Highwayfrom Angkor. As the enclosed area of 1020x580m is comparable with that of Angkor Wat, Phimai must have been an important city in the Khmer empire. Most buildings are from the late 11th to the late 12th century, built in the Baphuon, Bayon and Angkor Wat style. However, even though the Khmer at that time were Hindu, the temple was built as a Buddhist temple, as Buddhism in the Khorat area dated back to the 7th century.

Want to thank Jaeb Na Ka and her family

There are several hotels in Phimai.

We recommend Phimai Inn Hotel as that is the only one familiar with. Good food and nice pool.

Can reach Phimai by bus from Korat or Nakhon Ratchasima

I have been to both these lovely places many times to see.  Today wanted to show Jaeb as she has not been to them. Both interesting and fun to explore.

If on an adventure in Thailand a worth while trip is to a local market.

Usual opens in the evening. Will vary in size.  I like the larger ones even though can be very crowded.   The sites aromas and sounds all a great sensory experience.

Do you have any experience you would like to share on your adventure of life.

A great place for family and an excellent bargain. I was there Christmas Eve with a friend and my kids.  I will do a full review this week but want to share now if you are a family on Phuket Thailand for the holidays.

Open 7 days a week 9am to 9pm

There is a restaurant,  playground, nursery and more.  Later this week will do a full review with lot of photos.  My kids loved it.  They are 4 and 7.

Kathu Waterfall is small some might say just a small stream flowing over some rocks.  Would still be a nice place to visit in the evening if in the area.

There is some parking and a small convince store at the entrance.

At the entrance you can go to the right across a bridge that is over a stream.  Or you can follow a path that starts next to the small store  that actual goes to the Waterfall. There was very little water flow the day I was there but maybe during heavy rains could be more to see.

Next to the small store follow the path, just a very short walk.

Every wonder about vaccines required planning on a trip? Basic travel information and checklist. Also can store your travel documents.

link to app

We don’t usual write about apps but I discovered this app when trying to be able to locate a place I photograph

I often will photograph a place, nature, business, or just a place I discovered that is not well known. Then when I go back on Google maps and try to locate it is sometimes difficult. I also add places on Google maps and will write a review to help that small business.

So far I really like this app for Android phones. Can create your own categories. Like I have a personal and public.

I am not getting paid or any reward for this post. Just find this helpful and maybe others will too.

Can also be used along with contacts or addressees

Boat trip to the river mouth

Introduction
After a whole day without electricity. I am back at 7.45 pm after Tenaga “rewired the loose connections” of my 3-phased supply. Thanks to Chye Hong’s wiremen for “pulling out the plugs” of all electrical appliances as we thought it was short-circuit problem which was of a more common occurrence in my house. They checked every possibility and said that Tenaga meter is the problem and they are right. It was hot and sticky day because of no fan, no internet, no blogging, no TV, no fridge, no washing machine, and we are so dependent on electricity in modern time. Felt so helpless and “depressed”. Anyway, all things said it is back to normal again. I can do my blog entry again from now. Better late than never.

Tenaga is the sole Malaysia’s National Electrical Utility Company.
