Khun yuam is one of the places of attraction in Mae Hong Son province, Thailand. During the months November and December people come especially to look at the Bua thong (Mexican sunflower weed ) in full bloom across the mountain sides. Unfortunately after they have bloomed and the flowers have withered it no longer interesting or attractive to tourists. For this reason the  “Thai-Japan Friendship Memorial” museum was renovated to attract visitor to learn about the history of world war II. This place is unique, no brutality of war and no battle just full of friendship between two people with a common destiny who developed close ties, so much so, this bond and friendship still continues to this day.
