A quieter place with a lovely beach good for swimming and not over crowded with massages, bars, places to eat on the beach. There is a large expat community living here. The beach faces west so good sunset photos with mountains on both sides. On the south end of the beach when the tides goes out plenty of large rocks and boulders to add to photography. My next trip plan on taking many shots for B/W. In the area Hotels and Villas and nightlife. Its not Patong but still fun and Patong is only 15 minutes away. Another great blog about Kamala is Phuket 101. A map of the area is here MAP My favorite place for drinks is Crazy Bar and for some good american food especially hamburger is Boomers Cafe. Across the street from Boomers is a lovely villa with a pool to rent Villa Lila. About 50 meters is Papillon Bar and Restaurant that has french food. Not much as changed except no chairs on the beach.

The beach is long and on the southern end not many people
