What to See and Do in Khao Sok National Park, Thailand Part II

Welcome to the continuation of my piece on Khao Sok National Park in Thailand. If you haven’t already, please read the first part, What to See and Do in Khao Sok National Park Part I.

Another awesome place to visit within the national park is Ratchaprapa Dam. Ratchaprapa Dam is on Cheow Larn Lake, about a 1 hour drive east of the national park visitor center. You can book tours here through the help desk at the resort. The lake has become very famous for it’s beautiful limestone cliffs surrounding the lake.

You can visit the lake for a day trip or stay for a longer period of time. If you choose to stay then you have the option of sleeping in ‘floating bungalows’ on the lake. These are great and you can jump right into the lake for a morning swim. Please visit this site for more information on staying in a rafthouse.

Another option is to visit the lake for a day trip. When you arrive at the pier you can purchase tickets for a full or half day tour. You will be assigned a guide with a long tail boat to take your around the lake. We tour we decided on covered a large area of the lake, included a 30 KM trek through the jungle and a bamboo raft trip to a cave. This tour is highly recommended if you visit the lake. This is a great chance to see some of the beutiful nature and wildlife in the national park.
